Who Can Claim
You can make a claim if you live in Dudley Borough and you or your partner:-
Are working or do not work.
Pay rent to Dudley Council or a private landlord.
Pay Council Tax to Dudley Council.
Are sick or disabled.
Have less than £16,000 (Combined) savings. First £6,000 ignored. For pensioners on Guarantee Credit, capital limits do not apply.
Have people living with you on low income or unemployed (may be able to claim
Second Adult Rebate Council Tax Benefit only)
If you are considering making a claim for Housing Benefit and /or Council Tax Benefit then this should be done as soon as possible. Benefit entitlement will normally commence from the date you contact Benefit Services to request an application, or the date you submit your form (whichever is earlier) but can be backdated for up to 52 weeks in exceptional circumstances.
Forms can be obtained from Libraries, Citizens Advice Bureaux, Housing Associations and the Housing Department Estate Offices as well as by
contacting us.
