Who Can Claim
You can make a claim if you live in Dudley Borough and you or your partner:-
Are working or do not work.
Pay rent to Dudley Council or a private landlord.
Pay Council Tax to Dudley Council.
Are sick or disabled.
Have less than £16,000 (Combined) savings. First £6,000 ignored. For pensioners on Guarantee Credit, capital limits do not apply.
Have people living with you on low income or unemployed (may be able to claim
Second Adult Rebate Council Tax Benefit only)
If you are considering making a claim for Housing Benefit and /or Council Tax Benefit then this should be done as soon as possible. Benefit entitlement will normally commence from the Monday following the date you contact Benefit Services to request an application form, provided you return it within a calendar month, or the Monday following the date you submit your form (whichever is earlier) but in exceptional circumstances can be backdated for up to 6 months for working age customers and up to 3 months for pension credit age customers.
