Sports Grants
Raising money is never simple, but the information here provides a starting point for those seeking funding.
Business Grants
Currently Dudley Council does not offer any grants directly to any businesses. However we do work closely with a number of partners who may be able to offer financial support to Small to Medium Enterprises (SME’s) through various programmes.
GrantNET
Dudley Council subscribes to GRANTnet, a user-friendly free to use service to help community and voluntary groups, sports and other clubs, schools, social enterprises and small businesses identify funding sources available for specific projects. Once you have registered with GRANTnet, you will be e-mailed a password which will allow you to gain access. Having logged into the system, you will be asked a few simple questions about your organisation and project; GRANTnet will then provide an overview of the funding available.
External Funding
The Council works with a number of different funding agencies in an attempt to bring public and Private Sector investment into the Borough to help develop its regeneration projects. Public Sector money can come from a variety of sources. Generally however they come from either Europe, through the European Regional Development Fund or the European Social Fund or from various Government Departments. More recently significants amounts of funding is being administered through the Regional Development Agency,
Advantage West Midlands.
Disabled Facilities Grants
Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) are available following an assessment and recommendation by an Occupational Therapist. DFGs are normally the means by which adaptations in privately owned property are funded (the housing department funds adaptations in council owned property).
Educational Grants
School Clothing
Schools have delegated funds to meet the needs of families who may require additional financial support for the purchase of school uniforms. Parents should contact the relevant Head teacher directly.
Other Education Grants
Sport Dudley Grant Aid Programmes
Sport Dudley (formerly Dudley Sports Council) distributes grant aid to both individuals and sports clubs and organisations.
Childminding Start Up Grant
There has been a reduction in the number of registered childminders nationally. Recently the Government launched a national recruitment campaign to encourage new childcare workers to support this. The Government has backed up this campaign with grants for new childminders covering initial set up costs. Additional grant aid may be available for individuals who meet specified criteria. It may also be possible to support existing childminders wishing to offer additional services.
