Dudley Council’s vision of Strong Communities is recognition of our unique position in bringing together all key agencies with a shared interest in improving the quality of life of local people.
We want local people to be satisfied with the local authority, to feel informed about what we do and to be involved with the decisions we make. We are proud of what we have achieved so far through the commitment and strength of our staff, partnerships and customer engagement.
In the current challenging economic climate we remain totally committed to delivering high quality value for money services and information.
As Dudley Council, we will:
Listen to what local people say
Respond to what local people tell us
Be accountable for our performance
Provide value for money
Through working in partnership we have developed six community thematic priorities and one organisational priority. Our Council Plan details these objectives and what steps we need to take to ensure we reach the long-term goals. The priorities are:
Jobs and Prosperity – where businesses thrive and invest, and people are skilled for now and in the future
Heritage, Culture and Leisure – where people recognise and value culture as an intrinsic part of everyday life
Individual and Community learning – where people are inspired to reach their potential
Health and Well Being – where people are physically healthy and have good mental health
Environment and Housing – where people care for a natural built environment that is attractive, healthy and safe; and live in homes suitable to their needs and wishes
Community Safety – where people are safe, and feel safe enjoying a sense of freedom from crime and antisocial behaviour.
Quality Service – where people enjoy greater choice and flexibility to access council services that reflect strong partnership working, best use of technology and improved productivity.
Benefits services ensure that their objectives contribute to a number of these key priorities through the service that they provide to the community.
