Direct Debit Information
 
To receive your council tax bills electronically, it is necessary for you to pay by direct debit.  Once you have received a letter from us confirming that your direct debit application has been approved, you may then register for e-Billing.

Direct Debit is the safe, quick and easy way to pay, with a full guarantee against errors. Compared to other payment methods, monthly direct debiting offers you the following advantages:

Setting up a direct debit to pay your council tax in monthly instalments is simple, contact us on 0300 555 8000 and sign up over the phone or just complete and return a direct debit instruction. To obtain an instruction form:
 
 
You will be notified of the amounts to be debited at least 14 days before the first payment date. If you have any queries about the direct debit scheme, please telephone 0300 555 8000, email our Billing department or visit the Direct Debit website.
 
Direct Debit Guarantee

  • This Guarantee is offered by all Banks and Building Societies that take part in the Direct Debit Scheme.  The efficiency and security of the Scheme is monitored and protected by your own Bank or Building Society.

  • If the amounts to be paid or the payments dates change Dudley MBC will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed.

  • If an error is made by Dudley M.B.C or your Bank or Building Society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch of the amount paid.

  • You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by writing to your Bank or Building Society.  Please also send a copy of your letter to us.
