Emergency Information

During any emergency situation it is a priority of the council to keep affected members of the community and their families aware of the developing situation.

In order to do this the council have a Public Information and Media Plan.

The basis of the plan is to keep the public informed of developments through the Media, either radio, television or internet

There are also methods to get information to non English speaking communities as well as disabled.

A huge part of this is also to ensure that the media get the correct information to broadcast not only advice to the community but also the news story in order that the facts are not distorted. The council intends to keep the media informed of the situation by issuing bulletins to the media and setting up media centres.
