Dudley’s Major Emergency Plan provides the operational response of the council and partner agencies to any major incident which may occur within the council’s geographical area. It is a generic plan which can be used in all types of incident to mobilise the resources of the council.
In the event of an incident the council will open an Emergency Centre which will be staffed by officers of the council. It is within this centre that the incident is controlled, liaison between other organisations is maintained, and resources made available to mitigate the damage and promote recovery.
The Major Emergency Plan has a large number of supporting plans.
Individual Directorates within the Council has a plan to call out additional staff to deal with any Major Incident which may befall the borough. The contact information held within the plans is confidential.
Other plans cover specific actions within the plan such as restoration and recovery from incidents, clergy and other faith assistance to the public, fuel shortage planning for the council's services, Animal Disease Plans as well as planning for excess deaths during both Health Infections and major incidents
