We are a Division of the Directorate of Finance, ICT and Procurement of Dudley MBC and are responsible to the Director of Finance and the Senior Assistant Director of Finance. The Assistant Director of Revenues, Benefits and Management Support, Mike N. Williams is in charge of the day to day management of the Division.
Business Rates (National Non-Domestic Rates) is a tax on business properties. The tax is set by the government and collected by Dudley Council.
The rates collected are paid into a central pool and redistributed to billing authorities and major precepting authorities. Dudley's share of redistributed rate income, together with income from its council taxpayers, revenue support grant provided by the government and certain other sums, is used to help pay for the services provided.
