Information about Motor Salvage Operator Registration
Any person who carries on a business that involves the recovery of salvageable parts from motor vehicles and the subsequent sale or disposal for scrap of the remainder of the vehicle, or the purchase of 'written off' vehicles for repair or resale, or other related activities needs to register with the Council.

How to apply
An application form can be downloaded from the foot of this page or requested from the Licensing Office using the Contact Details box below. The application form can be used to apply for a new Registration or to renew a Registration.
An application to renew Registration should be made before the existing Registration runs out.

Fees
Registration lasts for three years and a fee of £63.00 (from April 2013) is payable.

The office is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm daily. Applicants are seen by appointment only.
