Dudley Council is responsible for the management of seven cemeteries throughout the borough and offers several different types of graves that can be purchased. These include earthen graves, cremated remains graves and woodland graves.
What graves are available for purchase?
Earthen graves are available at all sites except Halesowen Cemetery. Cremated remains plots are available at all of the Dudley borough cemeteries. Woodland graves are only available at Gornal Wood Cemetery.
Can I reserve a grave?
Graves can be reserved in some circumstances. Please be aware that the reserving of full earthen graves at Gornal Wood Cemetery and Dudley Cemetery can no longer be done.
How long is the grave purchased for?
A grave is purchased for a period of 75 years and will have certain conditions attached to it depending on the type of grave. These may include the size of the permitted memorial on that grave or whether a memorial can indeed be erected.
How much does it cost?
Details of the fees to purchase graves are available on the Burial, Grave & Cremation Fees. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit / debit card.
Please note that any purchasing fees are doubled if the applicant lives outside of the Dudley Borough.
Can I apply for a grave if I live outside the borough?
Yes, you can apply if you live outside of the borough; however please note; any purchasing fees are doubled if the applicant lives outside of the Dudley Borough.
