Crematoriums within the Borough

There are two Crematoriums within the Borough. Gornal Wood Cemetery and Crematorium was is set amongst delightful landscape grounds. Stourbridge Cemetery and Crematorium was opened in 1960 and is administered by Dudley Council. It is sited in the charming grounds of Stourbridge Cemetery.

Family History & the Genealogy Research Service

Please visit our Genealogy Research Service for the transcription of records and information on individuals buried in the seven cemeteries that are under the control of Dudley Council. Information can be viewed on a variety of information including burials, cremations, cemeteries, graves and plots.

Genealogy Research Service

Bereavement Services now offer a Genealogy Research Service to locate a person that is buried within one of the boroughs cemeteries. The online facility provides both the burial location and grave number.

In addition further information on Researching your family history is available from the Dudley Archives and Local History webpages, cemetery plans, and an online archive of historic mapping and aerial photography is available.

These rules and regulations are a necessary requirement for the management of Dudley Metropolitan Borough Cemeteries and Crematoria. The regulations have been prepared with a balance between individual rights/information and the need to regulate for safe and tidy grounds.
