Following the cremation of the deceased, the cremated remains will be given as requested by the “applicant for cremation” to the applicant or the Funeral director.
No cremated remains will be scattered for at least 14 days after the cremation has taken place, which allows you time to consider the final resting place.
Gardens of Remembrance
There are two gardens of remembrance at Stourbridge Crematorium where cremated remains may be scattered. The “New” Garden is situated near to the memorial walls and the “Old” Garden is adjacent to the main drive. At Gornal Wood a seasonal garden of remembrance is provided, located to the rear of the main crematorium building. The gardens are intended as a place for everyone to sit and reflect or simply enjoy. We are unable to allow any disturbance to the ground or the introduction of private vases crosses and plants. Any floral tributes placed in the garden, will be relocated to the flower room.
General Considerations
Do you wish to witness the burial or scattering of the cremated remains? Do you wish to have a short religious service at the burial/scattering of the cremated remains? Do you need to have a specific place in which to visit and bring flowers in the future? I.e. a grave.
Options for final resting place

Scattered on the lawn in the Gardens of Remembrance by Cremation staff (included in the fee). A fee is payable if family wish to witness. Scattered of buried in an existing family grave in a cemetery, fee payable. If you want the cremated remains to be scattered in the same garden as a relative, please inform the crematorium office who will check our records for the location. The gardens are communal and no specific location can be identified in the future. To be buried in a new or existing cremated remains plot, a fee is payable.

Cremated remains that are to be scattered in Crematorium gardens/grounds, or are to be buried/scattered in or around a grave, prior arrangement and permission must be obtained from the relevant cemetery, churchyard or Crematorium office and a “Certificate of Cremation” handed to the registrar/vicar.
It may be an offence to rest cremated remains in watercourses or on public land (without consent)
