Crematorium Grounds Maintenance

In caring for the crematorium grounds including the Gardens of Remembrance we aim to achieve the following maintenance standards.
 
 
Standard
The lawn areas will be cut every:
10 Working days
Roses will be inspected for disease/aphid infestation
and the standard roses for broken stakes every:
10 Working Days
Roses will be treated within
(and thereafter as required)
10 Working Days
Paths will be edged every
Two times per annum
Rose bed will be hand weeded and edged every:
(between start April - Mid September)

Roses will be fed with granular fertiliser before the growing season each year. Rose heads (dead) and suckers will be removed every 10 working days between the start of June and Mid September. The roses will be pruned in the Spring and the Autumn. 
 
Each winter period November/February dead or poor rose specimens are replaced with new. Also during this period several of the rose beds are replenished, the bush roses are replaced and the beds have well rotted manure and new topsoil added to them.
 
Shrubs and trees will be pruned and cut back in accordance with their seasonal requirements.
 
These standards are subject to weather conditions permitting work.
