Elections 2016

Borough Elections will be held on Thursday 5 May 2016.  These elections will be combined with the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) election for the West Midlands force area

Birmingham City Council will lead on the PCC election.  Their main role is to deal with the nomination process and compile the regional count result on Friday 6 May.

Register to vote

18th April is the deadline to register to vote in these elections, registering is easy simply visit www.gov.uk/registertovote

If you will 18 be 5 May you can vote in these elections.

Polling Stations

There will 194 polling stations open across the Borough on 5th May, the schedule of polling stations can be found at the bottom of this page

Key dates

  • Poll cards will be delivered around Easter
  • Deadline for receipt of nomination papers - 4pm on Thursday 7 April
  • Deadline to register to vote - Monday 18 April
  • Deadline to apply for a postal vote - 5pm on Tuesday 19 April
  • Deadline to appoint a proxy - 5pm on Tuesday 26 April
  • Postal vote packs will be issued to existing postal voters around 15 April, final packs will be issued around 25 April
