Applications for Postal Votes must be received by 5:00 pm on the eleventh working day prior to an election.

If you choose to vote by post your ballot paper will be sent to you about 1 week prior to election day.  You mark your ballot paper in the normal way then return it in the pre-paid envelope along with the completed security statement before the close of poll.

Alternatively you can apply for someone to vote for you. If you have a particular reason i.e; you are blind or disabled, or if you are away from home during an election and will be leaving prior to postal votes being issued.

To apply for someone to vote on your behalf please see our Download Forms page for a Proxy Vote application form. Simply print off the form, fill it in and return by post or personal visit to the following address :

Electoral Services
Old Crown Court,
Priory Street,
Dudley,
DY1 1EY

By fax on 01384 815299

By email elections.cexec@dudley.gov.uk

Application forms appointing a proxy must be received 6 working days prior to an election.

If you choose to vote by proxy you are authorising someone else to vote on your behalf.  Your proxy will receive a proxy letter prior to election day.  The proxy takes this to the polling station indicated on the letter and votes on your behalf.

If you already have a regular postal or proxy vote at elections you do not need to make another application as long as you still live at the same address.

A separate form must be used by each person who wishes to apply for a postal or proxy vote.  If you need to change anything in your application or cancel the postal or proxy vote you must tell us at least 11 working days before an election.
