Skills for Life

Skills for Life is a specific term that refers to literacy, numeracy and language.

We use reading, writing and maths every day at home and at work. Record keeping, reading notices, writing reports, administering medication and other tasks all demand these essential skills.

Supporting employees to gain appropriate literacy and numeracy skills will help to offer an effective solution to meeting organisational improvements and business objectives, such as:

  • meeting health and safety requirements;

  • increasing productivity and improving quality;

  • achievement of mandatory training;

  • reducing absenteeism;

  • reducing errors and wastage;

  • improving customer relations;

  • contributing to an Investors in People award;

  • being seen as a learning organisation.
