Review of Parliamentary Constituencies in England

 

The Parliamentary voting system and Constituencies bill received Royal Assent on 16th February 2011. The bill requires the Boundary commission to commence a review of Parliamentary Constituencies in England. The Commission will be required to submit its report on the review by 1st October 2013.

 

Secondary Consultation Period

The Boundary Commission have now announced details of the secondary consultation period.

The publication of the written representations and verbatim transcripts of the public hearings will start the statutory ' secondary consultation
period ' , when individuals and organisations have an opportunity to submit comments on the representations made by others during the
consultation on the initial proposals.

The secondary consultation period will run from noon on Tuesday 6th March 2012 through to noon on Tuesday 3rd April 2012 , full details

Initial Proposals

The Boundary Commission published the initial proposals for new Parliamentary Boundaries on 13th September 2011.
