Dudley Council budget consultation - your views matter

The government announced last year that its funding for local government services would be reduced by at least 28% over four years.

This is to tackle the national financial deficit.  It means there will be less money for local councils in the future.

At the start of this year Dudley Council agreed a three year plan.  Around £22 million has already successfully been found during 2011-12.

And the council is now outlining proposals for £12 million savings over the next two years.  We plan to make a further saving of £8 million in 2012/13 and £4 million in 2013/14.

We remain determined to make sure our priorities continue to reflect our commitment to providing excellent quality and value for money services.

Did you know:

  • your council delivers over 800 different services

  • your council is judged as a high performing, low cost authority

  • your council tax remains the lowest in the Black Country due to major efficiencies.
