The Select Committee has within its remit scrutiny and policy development
At it's first meeting in 2004/05 cycle the Committee agreed a draft work plan for the year.
- Public involvement will continue to be encouraged by
- Having an item on each agenda to discuss anything raised by the public
- Maintaining & developing the website for the Committee, with a facility for the public to email direct from there to the Chair.
- Issuing press releases as appropriate.
- The committee can use working groups, chaired by Councillors from the Committee, to examine areas of service provision in order to assist policy development and improve services. The groups can include external customers and will be setup as and when needed
