Policies and procedures are required by
Ofsted to provide clarity of contents giving staff, parents and carers an insight into the requirements childcare settings adhere to. They are written documents that communicate the successful management of the setting and promote a safe, secure and stimulating environment for each individual person who takes an active role in the childcare setting.
All policies and procedures are working documents therefore it is important that once developed, they are widely communicated and regularly monitored and reviewed to reflect Government legislation and registration requirements.
Listed below are a range of policies and procedures, which you may need to satisfy each of the requirements. The childcare support officers can assist you in developing your policies and offering further support or guidance. A
