Black Country Crafts - stitching and beading course

Come along and have a go at Black Country crafts - from times past to crafts that are still being practiced today.

We will look at the different traditional crafts of the Black Country with a focus on canal stitch craft and jewellery making which will include rag rugging, spiderweb embroidery, fender making and crochet.

Although this is a hands-on craft course, at the start of each session we will be looking into Black Country history, culture and customs, including poetry, stories and recipes.

This will be a fun course suitable for all ages. No experience is necessary and all materials will be provided.

For more information contact the course tutor, Julie, on 01384 569198 or e-mail Julie at: julie@canal-art-by-julie.co.uk

The course starts on 23 February 2012 at LeasowesCommunity College in Halesowen and runs on Thursday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3.30pm .

We have new courses starting in January to help develop basic computer skills and discover the wonders of the web. Many of our courses are designed for absolute beginners or people with basic computer skills so everyone can develop their skills and learn to use the web.
