What is Dudley Counselling Service?
A professional, confidential service available to schools and outside agencies, which offers young people a regular space to talk and think about things that are important to them. The counselling service provides support for children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural concerns, enabling them to fulfil their potential.

Why is there a need to have counselling services especially for young people?
Counselling helps children and young people:

reduce their levels of distress
develop better relationships with family and friends
re-engage with school activities
regain self-esteem and pride in their achievements

Who are we?
A team of specialist teachers who are all qualified counsellors with many years of experience of working with children and young people:

described by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as ‘the forerunner of excellence in counselling service provision for children and young people in schools"
featured on the Department for Education and Skills website as a model of good practice

What do we offer?
A counselling service that is tailored to the individual requirements of children, young people and schools. We provide:

staff training
consultancy
links and liaison with other appropriate agencies
counselling and support for staff and other adults
group work
