What is the Education Welfare Service?
The Education Welfare Service works in partnership with parents, pupils, schools, other agencies and communities to: -
  • Raise levels of attendance across the borough
  • Provide support and advice regarding access to appropriate educational opportunities
  • Increase levels of social inclusion
  • Carry out initiatives across the Borough to promote attendance
 
Access Arrangements
  • School Support Service
    Every Dudley School has a named Education Social Worker.
     
  • Duty Help Line – (01384) 814317
    Available to all services users at EWS Office (weekdays only) - 
    From 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (9.00 am to 4.00 pm Friday)
     
  • Appointment Service
    Available to all service users (as above)
     
  • Home Visiting Service
    The EWS undertakes the majority of its contacts with families through the arrangement of home visits
