Aims of the Service

The LACES Team aims to ensure that:
 
 
  • Every child in care attends a full time educational placement
 
  • Every child achieves their potential
 
It is the responsibility of the service to:
 
  • Raise the attainment of children in care
 
  • Ensure that all children in care have access to a broad and balanced education, commensurate with their needs and where possible in a mainstream school
 
  • Raise awareness of the importance of education and lifelong learning with all people associated with children in care
 
  • Help create opportunities for children in care to achieve success in their educational careers
 
  • To work closely with all agencies to improve educational opportunities for children in care
