Virtual School Training

The Virtual School for Looked After Children provides training to schools, Council staff and carers.

• Training sessions are designed to raise awareness of issues relating to the educational needs of looked after children. 

• It includes bespoke training for schools, social care staff and carers.

• The Virtual School staff deliver the majority of the training. However specialists are invited to attend or run specific sessions when appropriate.

• Training for designated teachers includes guidance and the latest developments on:

  • Personal Education Plans (PEPs),

  • Ofsted Requirements, 

  • The Pupil Premium 

  • Behaviour Management

  • An introduction to the Education of Looked After Children

• Training for Carers and social care staff includes:

  • An introduction to the Education of Looked After Children

  • Personal Education Plans (PEPs),

  • Internet Safety

  • ICT skills and knowledge
