Laptops for Year 6 and 7 Children
All Children Looked After by Dudley MBC in years 6 and 7 (academic year 2009-10) are eligible to receive a free laptop to support their education. The Funding is from the Home Access for Targeted Groups scheme run by BECTA and is part of a government drive to ensure that as many children as possible have access to a computer and the internet at home. This is because children who go online for learning at home generally do better in school and so have better chances in live.
The majority of the children have now received their Asus Minbooks which were provided and aresupported by RM.
