Schools and early years providers have to follow a structure of learning, development and care for children from birth to five years old. This is called the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and it enables your child to learn through a range of activities.
What does the Early Years Foundation Stage do?

Early Years Foundation Stage Profile
All early years providers must complete an Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP) for each child during the academic year they reach the age of five (for most children this is the reception year in primary school). The profile describes the child's level of attainment at the end of the EYFS and identifies their learning needs for the next stage of school, helping Year 1 teachers to plan an effective and appropriate curriculum for the child.
