School library/resource centre development

Professional advice and practical help can be provided for all aspects of the organisation, management and development of the school library/resource centre.  We can help with:

  • self-evaluation of the school library/resource centre
  • planning a new library or revitalising an existing one
  • writing a library policy
  • stock editing
  • selection and purchase of new resources
  • classification
  • computerisation
  • furniture and equipment
  • layout and guiding

Please feel free to contact us for further help with your school library/resource centre.

Secondary Librarians’ Meetings

Regular meetings (approximately each half-term) are held to provide opportunities for training, to keep professionally up to date, and to share good practice and ideas, whilst also giving the chance to visit other school libraries/resource centres in the borough.

Junior Librarian/Eclipse Training

We can organise training for Junior Librarian and Eclipse (including the new web-based versions) by Micro Librarian Systems (MLS) trainers.  This is subject to sufficient demand – please contact us for more details.

Other training to suit your individual requirements may be available, and we would be pleased to discuss this with you.
