Foster & Rastrick Foundry Public Consultation

Foster & Rastrick Foundry

The former Foster, Rastrick & Co foundry in Lowndes Road, Stourbridge has been empty since 2004 when the foundry ceased production (the most recent manufacturer using the site having been Sidney Smith Castings).

The Foster Rastrick name has a place in history after, using this building, having manufactured the first steam locomotive to run on rails in America.

There are five listed buildings on this site, all of which are recognised for their national importance and architectural merit.

The West Midlands Historic Buildings Trust (WMHBT) is looking to identify how these buildings can be bought back to a sustainable use, and have commissioned an Options Appraisal to explore this.

WMHBT would like to take account of your views. Click on the link below to read more about the Options Appraisal and to download a questionnaire. You can also click below to look at plans of the possible future opportunities for the Foundry.
