This Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) was adopted on 14th June 2006 and contains guidance on Dudley’s affordable housing requirements to assist Developers when submitting residential planning applications and gives further detail on Policy H5 (Affordable Housing) of Dudley MBC’s Adopted Unitary Development Plan (UDP) (October 2005). It is available to download below together with the Adoption Statement and earlier drafts and documents used in its preparation.
Affordable Housing trigger threshold:
The Council will use the latest thresholds for affordable housing as set down in the most recent national planning guidance. This aspect is already made clear in the supporting text to Policy H5 "Affordable Housing" which is set out in the Council's Adopted UDP (October 2005). The latest national planning guidance for housing is set out in Planning Policy Statement 3 (PPS3) (November 2006) "Housing". In paragraph 29 (indent four), PPS3 expects local planning authorities to seek a contribution towards on-site affordable housing provision as part of residential planning applications involving 15 dwellings (15 units) and above. Dudley MBC is therefore using this latest 15 dwellings (15 units) trigger point threshold.
