Unitary Development Plan, Inquiry - Inquiry Programme

The programme for the Dudley UDP Inquiry has now been finalised and shows timings for all those objectors, who have requested appearance time at the Inquiry. This programme may be subject to change and it is important that objectors maintain contact with the Programme Officer to confirm how the Inquiry is progressing and if there have been any amendments to the published programme.

Below are tables showing dates for submissions of proofs and written representations. This has been amended to take account of revisions made at the Pre-Inquiry Meeting and the addition of Block 5.

Appearing at the Inquiry - Options

Those objectors, who have requested appearance time at the Inquiry, should check the programme carefully and note the session (s) allocated to your objection(s). If your name is not listed and you wish to appear, please contact the Programme Officer immediately. Similarly if you are listed and do not now require Inquiry time, you should also notify her at once.

In order to make efficient use of Inquiry time, multiple objections have been listed against a single appearance, where appropriate. Related objections have also been grouped together in some instances. All objections to Part 1 of the UDP will generally be dealt with in the relevant block for that topic, for example, objections to S1 relate to the Design & Development chapter and will be dealt with in Block 2.

Those objectors who are appearing, should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your allocated time and report to the Programme Officer's office to sign the attendance sheet. Her office is located in room 18 of the Council House on the ground floor, opposite the main entrance. It will be the objectors responsibility to ensure that they are available to present their case when called. It is advisable to attend those sessions for related objections if possible (for example, objections to the same site) as this will aid the smooth running of the Inquiry and avoid unnecessary duplication.

Formal Inquiry & Informal Hearing format

All objections will be heard as informal hearings, unless the Programme Officer has been notified of your selection of the formal inquiry format, Option 1.

Proofs of Evidence

Please note the dates of submission for proofs of evidence. These deadlines relate to the block in which your objection(s) is to be heard, therefore you should consult the Programme for the timing of your objection(s).

Details of Objectors/Witnesses

Written details of who is presenting your evidence, together with names and professional qualifications of any witnesses, should be sent to the Programme Officer at the time proofs of evidence are submitted.

Written Representations

Written Representations enable objectors, who do not wish to appear at the Inquiry, to submit further information in addition to their original objection. The policy reference number for each objection indicates the topic to which it relates. For example, 04/DDPC1 relates to Design & Development (ignore the letters 'PC' - they simply signify it is a Revised Deposit objection) and the written representation should therefore be submitted by 22 November (Block 2).

Original Responses

If you have already stated that you wish to rely on your original objection, you do not need to submit anything further.
