Pollution has an impact on us all. Every household in the country puts pressure on our natural resources and the environment through using energy, water and generating waste. While the government is committed to improving the quality of our environment, we can all make a difference by bringing small changes into our daily routine.

Air Monitoring in Dudley Borough

There are currently three monitoring stations located within Dudley Borough which are used for monitoring a range of pollutants. The most recent monitoring results from Dudley and the other West Midlands Local Authorities may be viewed and downloaded from the joint West Midlands Air Quality website.

Asbestos

Asbestos may be found within the home or within the workplace. Asbestos-related disease can be caused by breathing air containing asbestos dust. It is responsible for the highest number of work-related deaths.

Hazardous Substances

Every year exposure to hazardous substances at work affects the health of many thousands of people.
The high costs of ill-health arise from a number of causes, including loss of earnings, loss of productivity, prosecution and civil action, among others.
 

Pollution Control

A public register of prosecutions is maintained detailing details of prosecutions and formal cautions issued in the last three years, in accordance with the Environment and Safety Information Act 1988. Please bear in mind that some offences may not come to our attention for some time and could have been committed many months ago. The business may now be trading legitimately, presenting no problem to consumers.
