Dudley Council operates a back door sack collection service for domestic refuse. Please ensure that your refuse is securely contained in refuse bags. Please remember that we do not collect garden waste as part of the weekly household refuse collection. We will only collect normal domestic household waste in plastic sacks.
This excludes garden waste, bulky items, white goods, recyclables, hazardous wastes, paints and other liquids which are the subject of separate services. This also excludes dangerous items such as knives, broken glass or other similar hazardous objects, which could cause injury.
Small amounts of cat litter should be double bagged and included in household waste. Large amounts should be disposed of at Civil Amenity sites. Heavy amounts will not be taken in normal household collections.
What time does my refuse have to be out? The scheduled weekday service normally operates between 6am and 2pm As the refuse collection commences early in the morning your refuse should be made available by 6am on the morning of collection, or at the earliest after 7:30pm the night before. Please ensure your waste is placed on your property and not on the public highway.
My neighbour is putting rubbish out days in advance of collection, what can be done? If you provide details the problem will be investigated and letter sent to resident in first instance. If the problem persists enforcement action may be taken.
When will my refuse be collected?
We will collect your household waste on the same day each week. We will advise customers by local press or leaflets or coloured sacks of any changes to collection days e.g. bank holidays, adverse weather disruptions, etc. For information relating to your normal refuse collection day please see the page on Domestic Refuse Collection.
Provision of black Sacks
The Council will provide households with one replacement plastic sack each week.
