Frequently asked questions

Can I put my old items to good use, rather than just scrapping them?
There are several local charities that could make use of items you no longer need but which are in a reasonable condition. We would much rather see items re-used than collected by us and scrapped.

What can be collected by the Special Collections service?
We can collect bulky waste including garden rubbish and larger items of rubbish (e.g.: sofas and fridges) Items must be on customers property as near to pavement as possible. Please note that branches need to be cut to less than 4 Feet (1.2Mtrs) prior to collection.

How much will it cost?
There are six sizes of bulky collection:
  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large
  • Large + Small
  • Large + Medium
  • Large + Large
Please contact us to discuss the items that you need removing, the price and a day for collection.

How do I pay for the service
This service can be paid for at the point of ordering, by debit or credit card, or if you visit Dudley Council Plus also by cash or cheque.

  • Address
  • Contact number
  • Number of items for collection
  • Description of items for collection

Once we have received your payment we will contact you to book a suitable date.

What if I change my mind? Can I get a refund?
Notification of any cancellation must be received before 4:00pm on the previous working day to collection. Cancellations received after deadline will be charged unless crew can be alerted.

What can be taken away?
Because we charge for each item, it's important to make clear distinctions about what 'one' item means. Our guidelines are that if something is of no use on its own then it doesn't count as an item. For example:
  • A shed dismantled into its sides, roof, floor etc counts as one item - a roof of a shed is useless without the rest to hold it up...
  • ...but a three piece suite counts as three items - the chairs would be perfectly useable without the sofa.
  • Similarly a bathroom suite cannot be one item - a toilet doesn't require a bath to be useful.
