Voluntary Wardens at Wren’s Nest National Nature Reserve

Please be advised demand for volunteering opportunities is high and we have only a limited number of placements available at any one time.  To succeed at Wren’s Nest NNR, you must demonstrate a keen interest in geology and have an enthusiasm for rocks and fossils as well as general natural history, amongst other relevant skills, experience and hobbies. Only the most serious and motivated individuals will be invited to interview.

When completing your application form, you should give the fullest details about your interests, hobbies, relevant skills, experience and motivation for seeking a placement at Wrens Nest.  Your application should also include what you would expect to gain from your time at Wrens Nest (if offered a placement) and the types of work you would expect to be doing.  You will also need to include details of when you would ideally wish to start, how long you would like the placement to last and how many days/hours per week you would be willing to commit to.  Unfortunately, we cannot currently offer weekends or Mondays.

After your application form has been considered, you will be informed in writing whether or not you have been invited to attend an informal interview. Should your application not result in being offered an interview, you are entitled to seek feedback on the information that was provided in your application form by contacting the Senior Warden on 01384 812785.

You should also be aware that a successful candidate would be subject to a series of CRB, identity, health and immigration checks which must be completed satisfactorily before a start date can be agreed and which can take a number of weeks.
