You can contact us by telephone, by email or in writing. Simple enquiries can often be dealt with by telephone but more complex enquiries may have to be submitted in writing.
Our enquiry staff will ask you to identify the land in question and will work with you to establish the correct area of land.
If it is not easily identified we may offer to send you a plan to mark and return to us so that we can deal with your enquiry.

Straightforward enquiries can be answered in a few minutes or by a return call. However more complex enquiries may involve the retrieval and study of deeds and documents or the involvement of other Council Officers and Directorates and may take several days or even weeks, depending upon the work involved and its complexity.

Simple telephone enquires are currently dealt with free of charge although the council reviews its charging policy each April and we may have to make a charge for these enquiries in the future.
More complex enquiries or enquiries that require the retrieval of information are currently charged at Fee 1, as indicated on the Fees list.

If it is a privately owned property or you have purchased your property from the Council under the right to buy, you will have to refer to your own deeds, your Solicitor or Coventry district land registry.
No, we do not hold information regarding public rights of way or public highway. Enquiries relating to these matters must be referred to the Directorate of the Urban Environment, Highways Division, on 01384 815424.
