Dudley MBC is preparing a Halesowen Area Action Plan (AAP). To ensure that the strategy of the Halesowen AAP contributes to sustainable development it will be subject to a Sustainability Appraisal.
Following on from and informed by the Halesowen AAP ‘Options’ stage consultation during 2010, Dudley Council has now produced its Halesowen AAP ‘Preferred Options’ stage document – which is subject to public consultation over the period 9th January to 20th February 2012.
An accompanying 'Sustainability Appraisal for Preferred Options for Halesowen AAP' has been produced and is available to download below. Alternatively, paper copies can be viewed in all main Dudley libraries, at receptions of Council offices at 3 St. James's Road, Dudley and Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge and at Dudley Council Plus, 259 Castle Street, Dudley. Copies can also be obtained from the Planning Policy Section at the address given below.
Alongside consultation on the Halesowen AAP Preferred Options document, comments are also welcomed on the Sustainability Appraisal during the consultation period 9th January to 20th February 2012.
Sustainability Appraisal is an iterative process and has been done at each preparation stage of the Area Action Plan.
In July 2010 and following initial frontloading consultation earlier that year, Dudley Council produced and consulted on its Halesowen AAP 'Options' stage document. An accompanying 'Sustainability Appraisal of the Halesowen Area Action Plan Options’ was produced and is available to download below.
The Council has previously prepared a Scoping Report which accompanied the Frontloading Consultation on the Halesowen AAP. The Scoping Report sets out the current baseline of the area with regards to environmental, economic, social factors and current sustainability issues relevant to Halesowen. The report also identifies the sustainability framework that has been used to assess the Halesowen AAP and sets out the sustainability objectives that may have a bearing on the document. The scoping report was subject to a five week consultation period which ended on the 23rd of March 2010. The final version of the Scoping Report is also available to download below.
