Pollution Control

Pollution has an impact on us all. Every household in the country puts pressure on our natural resources and the environment through using energy, water and generating waste. While the government is committed to improving the quality of our environment, we can all make a difference.

This section contains information and advice on various forms of pollution and pollution control.

Air Quality

All of the borough is within a smoke control area therefore all combustion appliances must burn smokeless fuel or the appliance must be approved to burn other fuels within a smoke control area.

The most recent Air Quality monitoring results from Dudley may be viewed on the joint West Midlands Air Quality website.

Daily Air Quality Report

As part of its duty to monitor the quality of the air in Dudley Metropolitan Borough, the council continuously monitors, and records as 15 minute averages, the levels of a range of common pollutants at its automatic monitoring stations, to produce a Daily Air Quality Report

Prosecution Register

A public Prosecutions Register is maintained detailing details of prosecutions and formal cautions issued in the last three years, in accordance with the Environment and Safety Information Act 1988.

Please bear in mind that some offences may not come to our attention for some time and could have been committed many months ago. The business may now be trading legitimately, presenting no problem to consumers.
