Resource efficiency and recycling

There are a number of organisations who can help local businesses to become more resource efficient, reducing the amount of waste produced and saving money. Dudley MBC does not offer a trade waste recycling service, however, there are local companies who can offer recycling services for items ranging from office waste to construction or agricultural waste.

Local Recycling Companies

NetRegs is a free resource provided by the environment agency. Businesses in the Dudley borough can find their nearest waste site according to the type of waste they are looking to dispose of - making it easier to dispose of unwanted items responsibly.

WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) provide a similar service along with various guidance documents on setting up recycling schemes and case study examples.

Polystyrene Recycling

A business offering the recycling of polystyrene has opened on Garratts Lane, Cradley Heath (B64 5RE). Foam packaging with the number ‘6’ on it can be dropped off free-of-charge by local businesses and residents. The recycled foam is then turned into products such as garden furniture and insulation.

NISP is a free business opportunity programme that delivers environmental, social and economic benefits and is the first industrial symbiosis initiative in the world to be launched on a national scale.
