Newspapers, magazines and catalogues are taken to a local bulking station before being transported onwards for processing by Aylesford Newsprint.

Aylesford have produced a video which explains the process in detail (please note the video will take a few minutes to load)

 

 

Food and drink cans

Mixed cans are taken to a plant where they get separated, then get melted and sold as ingots to the industry to create anything from more cans, biscuit tins, parts of cars and planes.

Apart from being melted to make more glass packaging, there are many other uses for glass, such as road construction
