Housing with care

If you feel that you need extra help with living at home you could look at the sections on equipment and Dudley Telecare Service to see if this is the sort of support you need.

If you feel that you need help with personal care such as washing and dressing you will need to contact the access to adult care services team.

Vulnerable people who perhaps do not need 'personal care' but could use help to learn independent living skills such as how to manage budgets, eat well and stay healthy can contact any of the relevant supporting people service providers or contact the Supporting People Team on 01384 814647.

Community support visits

Sheltered Housing Officers, based across the borough offer a 'floating' support service to people who live in their own homes but need a little extra support in order to live successfully in the community, on their own.

Supported (or Sheltered) Housing

If you feel that you need more help than that provided by the teams described above, this may be an option. There are a number of schemes across the borough offering a level of support appropriate to a person’s needs which enable you to maintain your independence in a supported setting. Sheltered Housing is usually available for people aged 60+ but can, in some circumstances be extended to younger people with disabilities.
