Dudley Council Carers Charter

The Council Charter says that the Authority recognises the role that carers play in supporting their families, the Authority and the Community. It commits the Authority to developing flexible working policies and recognises the role of managers and supervisors in this process.

To emphasize its importance, the Mayor and Mayoress hosted the launch in the Mayor's Parlour. The Leader of the Council, the Chief Executive, and the Director of Social Services also attended. Several carers who had volunteered to help promote the Charter were invited to meet the Mayor.

We will now be promoting the Charter throughout the Council. We hope that other employers will join us in recognising that supporting carers not only helps the carers themselves but benefits the employer and the community as well.
