Dudley Carers' Strategy 2007-2012
The Carers' Strategy explains how we want to provide services to carers in the Dudley Borough. Carers are people who look after a relative or a friend of any age with a long term illness or disability.
The Directorate of Adult, Community and Housing Services and our partner organisations, such as Health and the Voluntary Sector, value the contribution carers make to the well-being and continuing care of vulnerable people in the community. The Borough’s estimated 35,000 carers provide hours of care that, on a conservative estimate, is worth over £97,000,000 to the local economy.
This strategy contains principles of good practice relating to carers and the way in which organisations will work with carers. It builds on the work of the 2004-2006 Carers' Strategy.
