Carers Groups
Are there any other organisations that support carers?
Consultation, Involvement and Training
Several Groups have become active in a number of different directions. See below for further details.
Please click on the link above for further details about this group.
Dudley Carers in Partnership for Mental Health
This strong and growing group is involved in all aspects of consultation, planning and training within mental health services. Please see the slide show under related documents below titled 'Dudley Carers in Partnership for Mental Health'. This was produced by one of their members about their activities and achievements. Contact details are included.
Since that presentation was developed, members of the group have gone on to record a video sketch with Birmingham University. This sketch will be used as part of staff training so that they can see just how different life can be for carers. Please see link below:
New Group in Development! - Partners in Learning Disability Services
We are in the process of setting up a Carers Group to be involved in all aspects of Learning Disabilities Services. We have held our first event with carers representing a number of existing groups who have agreed to form an 'umbrella' Group to promote a stronger carers voice within Learning Disabilities Services. We are also anxious to encourage carers who have not previously been involved to join the new group - or indeed any of the existing ones! If you are interested in joining or becoming involved in other capacities, print off and complete the form titled 'Partners in Care' under related documents below. You can return it to the FREEPOST address given within the form.
Services for Children with a Disability
The Children's Disability Team is jointly commissioned by Dudley Social Services and Dudley Health Authority. The Team consists of community nurses and social workers who work alongside each other, jointly assessing the needs of children with disabilities and their families and carers.
