Family & Adolescent Support Team
The FAST team (Family & Adolescent Support Team) is based at Greystone Passage in Dudley and offers a range of services to families who are experiencing difficulties in parenting their children. The team aims to work in a solution-focussed way by encouraging families to recognise their own strengths and resources.
Prevention and intervention service
This service provides a rapid response to families in crisis. It is based on the Solution Focussed Brief Therapy model (de Shazer 1985) which embodies a forward looking approach and sets family owned targets over a short intervention period of six weeks. In urgent cases the manager can allocate a worker immediately and give families a same day appointment or an appointment within two or three days whichever suits the family.
Child protection plans
The FAST team can contribute to core assessments and child protection plans by providing monitoring and support to families whose children are on the Child Protection Register. Visits can be made to family homes as part of agreed work plans.

Parenting programmes can be arranged during the day and in the evenings. These sessions give parents opportunities to share their experiences with other parents and to develop coping strategies to deal with challenging adolescent behaviour.
All services based at Greystone Passage are available by contacting the duty office who operates from 9 – 5 Monday to Friday. Services can be provided at weekends and Bank holidays to ensure safety and support to vulnerable children and families.
