Home Support Service

The Council provides personal care and support for people with a learning disability to enable them to live independently at home.  It may include help getting washed and dressed, cooking and eating meals, shopping and running your home.

 

Care may be provided by the Council’s Home Care Service or by an external agency.  In exceptional cases, where people need high levels of support, we can provide one-to-one care.

 

Some people may also be able to get help from the Independent Living Fund (ILF) which can provide money to employ a personal assistant.  You can find out more about the Independent Living Fund from:
