The management structure of local health services throughout England changed in April, 2002. These changes affected the local Dudley Health Authority, Dudley Priority Health Trust and the Primary Care Groups.

Dudley is now part of the new Strategic Health Authority which covers the West Midlands, Birmingham and Coventry. Within Dudley there are two Primary Care Trusts which replace the Dudley Priority Health Trust.
