Dudley Community Alarm and Telecare Services

What is Telecare?

Telecare is an exciting and innovative service which provides support to people in their own homes, with the help of technology and community response services. Unobtrusive and flexible, it is a remote monitoring service which can help transform the lives of those who wish to remain living in their own homes for as long as possible. It has already brought reassurance to its hundreds of users by increasing their levels of safety and independency in their own home.

Telecare is easy to install and uses sensors in the home to monitor and alert potential accidents and emergencies for example falling, flooding and fire. These sensors can be linked to the Dudley Community Alarms Service monitoring centre via a telephone line and alert the trained operators within seconds if there is a problem in the home or the call can be transmitted to a carer pager for the nominated responder to respond.

The Dudley Community Alarm Service operates 24hours a day 365 days a year.
