Services for Older People
The numbers of Older People in Dudley are increasing rapidly and are estimated at 54,726 by 2006.
The Government National Services Framework for Older People ensures that services for Older People are continuously improved by:
- Rooting out age discrimination
- Providing person centred care
- Promoting Older People's health and independence
- Fitting services around people's needs
Older People and their Carers form the largest group of citizens who use social care services.
Dudley Social Services and Primary Care Trusts are committed to positively promote prevention and independence, rehabilitation and sustainability of care at home and, where appropriate, 'housing with care' or residential or nursing care.
