Youth Support

Young People who are or have been Looked After by the Local Authority who are seeking employment / training can obtain information from the 16+ (Looked After & After Care) Team. Tel: 01384 817670

16+ Team will:

Signpost young people to appropriate services and specialist advice and guidance E.G. Connexions
Provide support to access and maintain services by the allocation of a Young Person’s adviser
The support offered will try and ensure that the individual overcomes any anxieties and barriers necessary for them to obtain employment or training
Give encouragement and emotional support where appropriate throughout the process
Provide practical support which could include transport to and from appointments, assistance with clothing and equipment
Provide financial incentive to maintain positions
Help to access any grants / subsides

Link into colleges, training providers and work placements for the benefit of the young people continuing in positive placements.
