Childhood Immunisation Programme

The Childhood Immunisation Programme starts at 2 months of age and includes protection from serious diseases such as meningitis and measles.

The Childhood Immunisation Programme is under constant review to ensure that children are provided with the most effective protection.

The current recommended timetable for childhood vaccinations can be viewed here: http://www.nhs.uk/Planners/vaccinations/Pages/Vaccinationchecklist.aspx or a custom made immunisation schedule can be created here: http://www.nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/NHSvaccinationplanner.aspx

The uptake of the Childhood Vaccination Programme is monitored by the ‘COVER’ Programme (Cover of Vaccination Evaluated Rapidly) led by Public Health England. Data is reported quarterly, and can be downloaded here: http://www.hpa.org.uk/Topics/InfectiousDiseases/InfectionsAZ/VaccineCoverageAndCOVER/
